Welcome to the unofficial start of the 2023 golf season! Sure we had a month of golf already, but outside of the Farmer’s at Torrey Pines, that month of golf consisted of multi-course pro am’s, birdie-fest, and guys getting back into the swing of the Tour. The Waste Management Phoenix Open is one of my favorite non-majors. The atmosphere is unmatched. TPC Scottsdale is able to pack in 150k spectators daily. It is the most attended sporting event outside of the Olympics Games. And of course, everyone knows about the stadium hole par 3, 16th. On top of all that, the Super Bowl will also be in town this weekend, so I’m sure there will be an extra buzz. Here’s to hoping we see lots of beer shower aces in the 2023 edition of the WMPO.
